Vivaldi’s “Spring” (Music Review)

by Parnika Sharma, Grade 8, William G. Davis Sr. Public School

Majestic and soothing, this piece brings to mind memories of the thawing snow of spring. The piercing soprano melodies of the flute in contrast with the baritone strings section creates an eerily enchanting harmony-waking, yet relaxing. Soft and flowing, this music creates images of bubbling rivers, blossoming flowers and clear blue skies with earthy tones added through the chirping of birds. A wonderful piece, Vivaldi’s “Spring” is the perfect song for relaxation.
