The Locked Up Monkey: A One-Sentence Story

by Geny Symons, grade 8, Ecole secondaire catholique Marie-Rivier

The monkey was watching out of the newly cleaned bars of his very nice cage, observing the little children eating lollipops, bubble gun, cotton candy and many other treats, while holding the hand of their moms, running around the zoo to get to the many wild attractions like the merry-go-round, the Ferris-Wheel, the teacups etc, sweating yet smiling since out of the bars, the zoo was an incredibly fun time, laughing because they saw the animals doing some quite funny tricks, and having the time of their lives unlike the monkey who wished he could enjoy himself as much as did the children who came to visit the zoo in which he was locked up.
